Mission Statement
The personal safety and health of each employee in the General Services Department (GSD) is of primary importance. Accidents, injuries, and illnesses cause pain and suffering to employees, and significant losses to the Department through high costs and wasted resources.
Safety Operations Support (SOS) is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all GSD employees by devoting efforts to reduce and prevent accidents and injuries. SOS also provides Divisions with assistance to help comply with all Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations that govern workplace safety and health and provides safety awareness for all employees in order to maintain a safe work environment for everyone.
